Hello, I am Lukas
Role: project manager. Parent. An expatriate currently based in Berlin, Germany.
Some years back, I moved here with my family. What began as a short-term assignment gradually opened a new chapter of life overseas.
How It Started
Moving to Germany wasn't part of our long-term plan. As with many expat relocations, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far more significant.
The initial months were demanding — unfamiliar systems, routines, and expectations. Daily tasks seemed more complex than they ought to be.
The Adjustment Period
Culture shock, uncertainty, and hands-on learning were common in the beginning. Gradually, routines took shape. We found spots that fit us, connected with other families, and began creating something that felt secure.
Why I Built Stone Harbor Craft
Most online resources were either corporate relocation guidance or shallow tourism content. What was missing was a sincere, everyday family viewpoint.
This site aims to bridge that gap — practical guidance drawn from real life in Germany.
What This Site Covers (And What It Doesn't)
This site is:
- Practical insights from living in Germany
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated whenever there is a real change
This site isn't:
- Not a tourism authority resource
- Not a paid review platform
- Not a generic travel blog
Future Outlook
Our stay in Germany continues, and so does the learning journey. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll keep documenting what we discover.
If you have questions about family life in Berlin or anywhere in Germany, please don't hesitate to contact me.
Best regards,
Lukas
